Kinda cool! I just got word recently, this photo will be heading to its owner’s permanent location in Arizona. It’s definitely the furthest West my photography has ever been!
Backstory: In the fall of 2013, a dear old high school friend commissioned me to take photos of the Wilmington/Brandywine area including places she and her husband frequented which held special memories for them over the years. Transitioning from private practice to a Federal judgeship position, she asked me to take photos of the Federal Courthouse and surroundings. Last week, she gifted this photo to her personal law clerk who is leaving Delaware heading to Arizona to start his professional law career. No longer “my” image, this legacy photo will remind him of his humble beginnings and ‘roots’ in Wilmington, Delaware.
This small moment serves to reinforce in me, the power of the photographic image and the way we all wish to capture and preserve our “legacy”. ~ Scott Kern
SR – It’s been great to reconnect with you since our teenage days at CHS. Thanks for your support of my photography from the beginning! ~ SK
